I was able to switch hotels and book my own as I really like staying in the Mercure Hotels. They have great breakfast!s and nice large rooms. The train ride was a commuter train which was butts to butts. I had a seat next to my bike but ended up giving it to a single mom with a little girl. Never again on a commuter train, need to book high speed non commuter tomorrow.
Starting to feel better after a week of what we think was covid. Mannheim is the large city with Romanesque buildings. It is known for inventing the automobile, tractor and bicycle. My main account was John Deer which is here in Mannheim.

I talked the front desk into allowing me to store my bike in a small room behind the front desk. Great staff. Took a taxi from the hotel after breakfast and bought my train ticket. Then walked back to hotel, packed up and rode to train station. I leave at 1:10 pm to Konstanz/ Constance. I will be staying across the Rhine in Switzerland, which is about 2000 feet from Germany. Konstanz is a lovely city that I am familiar with and will enjoy my last 3 days alone riding on the bike paths around the 208 sq mile lake. Germans call is Lake Bodensee. The lake borders Austria, Switzerland and Germany as you ride around. I will be staying in the Switzerland side for 3 nights.
